Enchanted at the Gardens by the Bay, Singapore

Gardens by the Bay is one vast nature park in Singapore. It is undoubtedly one of my preferred attractions in Singapore.

Mom and I visited Gardens by the Bay last May. The entire place is stunning and well kept. Among its many garden conservatories, my favorites (yes, I have more than one favorite) would be the Flower Dome, the Cloud Forest, and the Supertree Grove.

Enchanting. This word best describes our visit to the Flower Dome conservatory. We were enchanted by a wide assortment of tulip blooms. The Flower Dome showcases flowers from different parts of the world. Exhibitions change depending on the season and theme. Tulipmania was the theme at the time of our visit.

Mom was so happy to see incalculable hues and forms of beautiful tulips, flown all the way from Netherlands to the Flower Dome. You know, it's quite overwhelming to see over 40 varieties of tulips in full bloom. The place was bursting with colors. We were surrounded by these pretty and delicate flowers.

Cool and majestic. It was totally different from the Flower Dome. The Cloud Forest conservatory showcases plant life from tropical highlands. It highlights a 35-meter mountain covered in lush vegetation.

We were greeted with a huge man-made waterfall upon entering the Cloud Forest. It felt like we were in a magical forest cloaked in mist.

We then proceeded for the Cloud Walk and Tree Top Walk for a spectacular aerial view of the forest. Quite tiring but fun! We then ended the walk with a stroll around the Secret Garden where we saw amazing colors of Gingers and Heliconias and some rare plant species.

After visiting the Flower Dome and the Cloud Forest, we went ahead and enjoyed a leisurely walk into the Supertree Grove. The Supertrees are man-made giant tree-like vertical gardens. The astounding supertrees can be easily spotted as they are humongous in size. They are all over the place. Quite incredible to look at. Makes you wonder as to how these colossal trees were constructed.

Gardens by the Bay is located at 18 Marina Gardens Drive, Singapore. It can be reached through MRT, Bus, and Taxi.

Standard rate costs 28SGD for a combo ticket which includes entrance fee to the Cloud Forest and the Flower Dome.

As for us, we booked our discounted tickets through Klook (an activity booking app). We paid 21SGD per person. That's 7SGD less the standard rate, cool eh? Tickets were sent via email and we just presented a printed voucher upon entering the two conservatories. No more waiting in queues just to get a ticket. Both observatories open daily from 9.00am - 9.00pm. I also booked our Universal Studios Tickets and other tickets through Klook. It's a very efficient booking system.

Definitely! In a modern city surrounded by concrete, high-rise buildings, Gardens by the Bay is a refuge. It may not be as natural as the ones in the wild, but it is one great, beautifully man-made architectural masterpiece. It is like a green haven in a city of superstructures.
